Xiph.org Directshow Filters are designed for Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Theora, FLAC, and WebM. The main goal of this project is to offer the most comprehensive support for Xiph.org codecs on Windows and DirectShow. This package covers everything you need, including tools to decode and encode all Xiph.org formats, including Annodex.

Some of the prominent codecs developed by Xiph.org include:
Vorbis: Vorbis is an open-source audio compression codec. It was designed to provide high-quality audio at lower bitrates. It’s often used for streaming audio and is considered a free alternative to proprietary codecs like MP3.
Speex: Speex is an audio codec specifically optimized for voice compression. Likewise it’s commonly used for voice over IP (VoIP) applications. It is also known for its ability to provide good voice quality while keeping the data rate low.

WebM: WebM is a multimedia format that includes the VP8 video codec and Vorbis audio codec. Likewise it’s designed for web video and is widely supported by web browsers.
